During the past decade, due to hot weather with a deficit of precipitation, the moisture supply of agricultural crops has deteriorated, and in the southern half of Belarus, the areas with insufficient moisture have noticeably expanded. Nevertheless, in the northern region and in most areas of the central part of the country, moisture reserves still remain sufficient. The most difficult situation persists in the Brest region, where in most districts, under grain crops, grasses, and flax, the reserves of productive moisture are low. Low soil moisture reserves have also been recorded in the south of the Grodno region, in some areas of the Gomel region, and in the southwest of the Minsk region.
As rains pass and the heat subsides, the agrometeorological situation will improve.
