Overview of agrometeorological situation of February 2, 2024
According to the results of the regrowth at the end of January in most of the observed fields, winter crops have normal viability. Well-developed winter crops withstood the January frosts without damage. At the same time, in the Vitebsk region (eastern part), the sparsity was increased in a third of the samples. Increased sparsity was observed in some places in the Gomel region in winter wheat of very late sowing dates, which went into winter in seedlings, as well as in the south-east of the Minsk region in single samples of winter barley. Individual weather stations have registered the appearance of snow mold on winter barley. Most of the winter rapeseed samples also showed complete regrowth or plant death was within the natural range. In the Vitebsk region and in the central districts of the Mogilev region, the sparsity turned out to be significant. There was a partial freezing of winter rapeseed due to low temperatures and insufficient snow cover in the first decade of January. Perennial grasses have shown good regrowth.
