According to the latest observational data, potato blooming has ended everywhere, and natural wilting of the tops has begun in some of the observed fields. The average weight of tubers under one bush at the end of July exceeds the level of the previous year for the same period. Frequent rains this summer and waterlogging of the soil have created conditions for the appearance of late blight. A number of weather stations in the observed fields note damage to potatoes by this disease.
In the coming days, a moderate temperature regime will contribute to the further growth of potato tubers. However, weather conditions will continue to provoke the progression of late blight.
