Overview of agrometeorological situation of August 4, 2026
According to the results of instrumental soil moisture measurements, on most areas under potatoes, corn, root crops, and grasses, the reserves of available moisture are sufficient. In the west of Grodno Region, the north of Vitebsk Region, and in some central districts of Minsk Region – they are above normal. In places in the southern half of the country, a deficit of available moisture is observed. In some fields in the southeastern region, due to low moisture availability, corn shows wilting and drying of leaves.
The short-term rains of varying intensity expected this week will maintain sufficient moisture reserves in the main crop areas, while in places they may slow down the pace of harvesting operations. Due to the predominance of hot weather, the soil temperature will be above the optimum for the growth of root crops and potato tubers.
