Overview of agrometeorological situation of August 27, 2024
According to the latest data, good moistening of the upper soil layer is maintained mainly in the northwestern half of the republic. In the southern part and in the east of the country, as well as in places in the west of the Vitebsk region, there is lack of soil moisture. It is difficult to cultivate the soil for sowing winter crops. Due to the lack of moisture, the conditions for the regrowth of herbs, the growth of root crops, and the formation of a harvest of late vegetables have deteriorated.
In the near future, weather conditions will be favorable for harvesting cereals, potatoes, raising flax and foraging, while warm and mostly rain-free weather will cause further loss of moisture from the soil.
