Due to the lack of precipitation, soil moisture reserves decreased, and areas with waterlogging decreased. In the southern part of Belarus, the amount of productive moisture under late crops has decreased to satisfactory levels, sometimes to low levels. Moisture availability remains sufficient in the rest of the country.
According to the latest visual observation data, in the southwestern and many eastern regions of the republic, the upper soil layer is poorly moistened, which makes it difficult to cultivate the soil for sowing winter cereals and sowing winter rapeseed.
In the near future, the weather in most of Belarus will be quite favorable for field work. In some places, short-term rains can slow down the pace of harvesting.
