Overview of agrometeorological situation of August 2, 2023
After the past rains, the moisture supply of agricultural crops has noticeably improved. Under potatoes, root crops, corn and herbs in most of the territory of Belarus, the reserves of productive moisture in the soil are good, in some areas in the east of the country, where more intense rains were observed, the reserves of productive moisture increased. At the same time, in a number of districts in the west of the republic, as of July 28, the reserves of productive moisture were insufficient.
In the first decade of August the expected short-term rains will increase the moisture content in the soil, the areas with waterlogging may expand, which will make it difficult to cultivate the soil for winter sowing. Unstable weather will affect the pace of harvesting.
