Overview of agrometeorological situation of August 19, 2021
Passing rains in most regions of the republic maintain good reserves of soil moisture. In recent days, soil moisture has improved in the southeastern part of the country. Agrometeorological conditions are favorable for cultivating the soil for sowing winter crops, for sowing and the emergence of seedlings of cruciferous crops. However, due to the uneven distribution of precipitation in the east of the Gomel region, soil drought persists. At the same time, in the north-east of the Vitebsk region and in some places in the west of the republic, waterlogging of the upper soil layer is noted.
In the near future, in most of the territory of Belarus, the weather will be quite favorable for field work. Expected intermittent rainfall should not seriously interfere with the completion of the harvest.
