The growth and development of sugar beet in most areas takes place with an abundance of soil moisture, which has a beneficial effect on the weight gain of root crops. At the same time, due to the predominance of cloudy weather and frequent rains, the conditions for the accumulation of sugars in root crops were not the best. In July and the first half of August, the duration of sunshine was less than the long-term average. The sugar content of sugar beet is inferior to last year's.
Visual assessments of the condition of sugar beet in most of the observed fields remain good. Currently, the agrometeorological conditions for the accumulation of sugars in root crops have improved.
