Overview of agrometeorological situation of August 11, 2023
The past rains have significantly replenished the moisture reserves in the soil, most significantly in the western half of Belarus. Moisture availability of late crops has improved. According to visual observations good moistening of the upper 10-centimeter soil layer is observed almost throughout the country which is favorable for tillage and sowing of winter rapeseed.
In a half-meter layer of soil in the observed fields with potatoes, corn, root crops and perennial grasses, according to the results of the instrumental determination of humidity conducted on August 8 the reserves of productive moisture in most of the republic are good.
In the second decade of August the expected rains will maintain good moisture availability of agricultural crops.
