Overview of agrometeorological situation of April 7, 2026
Based on the results of the route survey conducted in the Brest and Grodno regions, the condition of winter grain crops is good. In the main areas, tillering continues, and stem elongation has begun. Due to the colder weather, the vegetation of winter crops and the regrowth of perennial grasses will be limited in the near future.
The soil at a depth of 10 cm is well moistened, which allows for soil cultivation, moisture conservation measures, and spring sowing. Ongoing and forecasted precipitation will replenish soil moisture levels. As of the morning of April 7, primarily in the western part of the Vitebsk region, the upper 10‑cm soil layer was excessively wet. Due to the cold weather this week, conditions for sowing early spring crops will not be optimal. Under the influence of low temperatures and nighttime frosts, the period for the emergence of spring crop seedlings will be extended.
