Overview of agrometeorological situation of April 30, 2024
In most areas, the topsoil is in a moderately moist state. In many areas of the Vitebsk region and in places in the east of the country, due to waterlogging of the soil, a difficult situation remains for field work and spring sowing. The soil has warmed up to +11 +16°C at a depth of 10 cm, which contributes to the emergence of seedlings and the further development of crops. Favorable conditions are developing for planting potatoes and sowing corn.
In the near future, quite favorable conditions will develop in most of the republic for field work, the development of crops, fruit plantations, and the growth of the vegetative mass of grasses. In the northern region and in the east of the country, areas with waterlogging will be reduced, which will increase the rate of sowing of spring crops.
