Agrometeorological conditions for the sowing of spring crops, grass regrowth, and the development of winter crops have improved across the territory of Belarus. According to the latest observational data, soil temperature at a depth of 10 cm has risen to +8–+10°C, and in the south and southwest of the country – to +11–+12°C, which has made it possible to begin sowing maize. Over most of the country, the topsoil is well moistened. Following recent rainfall, locally in the Vitebsk region and in the eastern part of the Mogilev region, excessive wetness has been observed. In some southwestern and northwestern districts, the topsoil shows insufficient moisture.
In orchards, bud break is taking place, and leaf unfolding is being observed. In the southern part of the country, stone fruit crops have begun flowering. The negative nighttime temperatures expected in the coming week may pose a risk to flowering fruit crops.
