Overview of agrometeorological situation of April 16, 2024

According to visual observations, the upper 10-centimeter soil layer in most of the territory of Belarus is in a moderately moist state which allows for good rates of tillage and spring sowing. Waterlogging of the upper layer persists on heavy soils in the northern part of the Vitebsk region. Average soil temperature at depth 10 cm has decreased and is +7 +11°C.
In the near future cold weather slows down the vegetation of crops, the regrowth of perennial grasses, and the emergence of spring crops. Night frosts can pose a danger to flowering fruit crops.
