Overview of the hydrological situation of December 10, 2018
Within the previous period (6-9 December) there was a dissolution of ice shape on water bodies of the country for which cause the Viliya, the Zapadnaya Dvina near Polotsk, lower course of the Neman, most of its affluents as well as certain affluents of the Berezina and the Pripyat were cleared from ice bodies.
At the present time, ice formation and freeze-up with ice leads remain on the Berezina, the Pripyat, certain parts of the Zapadnaya Dvina, the Dnieper and the Sozh, there is water on the ice in certain areas. Ice shape is registered on the water bodies, however, ice structure is patchy, it is dangerous to go out on the ice.
Increase of water levels with the intensity 1-14 cm per day prevails on the rivers.
In the coming days, increase of water levels remains on the rivers. Weather conditions will contribute to ice-boom on the water bodies of the country.
