Climate characteristic of September 2019

Average monthly temperature in September was +12,8°С that was 0,7°С above climate normal. 
 
Deviations of average air temperature from climate normal in September in the Republic of Belarus 
Positive anomaly spread throughout the country. The biggest deviations of air temperature from climate normal (+1,1°С on average across the region) were registered in Brest region, they were small in Vitebsk region (+0,4°С on average across the region).
Temperature was irregular this month, first decade was warm, temperature was +3,3°С above normal, daily temperature ranged from +20°С to +28°С. Second decade was 0,5°С above normal. Temperature of third decade was -1,6°С below normal.


Average air temperature for decades and climate normal in the Republic of Belarus 
Temperature increased up to +25°С and higher in the warmest day. Absolute maximum of air temperature (+31,1°С) was registered in Pinsk on September, 2.
Temperature decreased up to minimal values in the coldest nights. Absolute minimum of air temperature (-5,7°С) was registered in Bragin on September, 24.
There was a transition of average daily temperature through 14°С to the decrease – end of climate summer, which lasted for 4 months on average in 2019 (from second decade of May).
52,4 mm of precipitations fell out on average across the country (87% of climate normal). Precipitation fell out irregularly. The biggest amount of precipitations was in Vitebsk region – 64, 5 mm or 96% of climate normal. The smallest was in Brest region – 39,3 mm or 70% of climate normal.

 
Amount of precipitations in September and climate normal across the regions and Republic of Belarus 
Precipitation fell out in form of rains and were observed mostly during 2nd and 3rd decades of the month. Maximum daily amount of precipitations was registered in Novogrudok on September, 3(40 mm).
Rains were accompanied with thunderstorms and wind gust up to 15 m/s and stronger. Maximum wind speed (21 m/s) was registered in Gorki on September, 22. Short foggy periods were registered in the morning and at night in certain areas.
