April 2 is the Day of unity of the peoples of Belarus and Russia!

Every year on April 2, Belarus and Russia celebrate an important date in their history – the Day of unity of peoples. This day symbolizes the commonality of historical destinies, cultural values and spiritual heritage of the two fraternal peoples.

It was on April 2, 1996, that the Agreement on the Formation of the Community of Belarus and Russia was signed which became the first step towards the integration of the two countries. This agreement laid the foundation for further deepening cooperation in various fields – political, economic, social, and cultural.

Since then, a long way has been passed: the Union State has been created, joint programs and projects aimed at strengthening ties, and improving the well-being of citizens of both countries are being implemented.

Belhydromet actively cooperates with Russian colleagues in the field of hydrometeorology, exchanging experience and information which contributes to improving the accuracy of weather forecasts and ensuring public safety.
The Day of unity of the peoples of Belarus and Russia is a holiday that reminds of the importance of preserving and strengthening friendly relations between our countries.
