According to the Republican Center for Hydrometeorology, Control of Radioactive Contamination and Environmental Monitoring, the radiation situation in the republic remains stable.
The gamma radiation dose rate levels in Brest, Vitebsk, Grodno and Minsk are 0.10 μSv/h, in Mogilev – 0.11 μSv/h and in Gomel – 0.12 μSv/h, which corresponds to the natural background radiation levels.
At the radiation monitoring observation points located in the city of Bragin and the city of Slavgorod, the gamma radiation dose rate levels are 0.43 μSv/h and 0.18 μSv/h, respectively. These values correspond to the established long-term levels and are due to the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
