Information on exceedances of standards for ambient air quality (from 8 to 14 May, 2025)

The state institution "Republican Center for Hydrometeorology, Control of Radioactive Contamination and Environmental Monitoring" informs about the exceedances of the MPC standards for pollutants in the atmospheric air of the cities of the republic for the period from May 8 to May 14, 2024.


In the air of Minsk in the area of Nezavisimosti Ave.,110a on May 14, 2025, an excess of the MPC standard for surface ozone, established for an 8-hour period, was recorded: the concentration of surface ozone was 1.04 MPC from 16:00 to 24:00 (a west-southwest wind at a speed of 3 m/s, gusts up to 9 m/s, rain was observed, air temperature varied in the range from +10.9°C to +17.1°C, relative humidity was from 30% to 86%), the average daily concentration of surface ozone concentration was 1.09 MPC (calm, west-northwest winds at a speed of 2 m/s, gusts up to 10 m/s, rain were observed, air temperature varied in the range from +0.8°C to +17.1°C, relative humidity was from 30% to 95%).


In the air of Grodno in the area of Obukhov St.,15 on May 10, 2025, the average daily concentration of surface ozone was 1.04 MPC (variable winds at a speed of 0.2 m/s were observed, air temperature varied in the range from +3.2°C to +14.0°C, relative humidity was from 31% to 93%).


In the air of Mogilev in the area of house № 10 on Pervomayskaya Street on May 10, 2025, the average daily concentration of nitrogen dioxide exceeded the MPC standard by 1.12 times (west-south-west, west, east, east-south-east, west-north-west winds at a speed of 13 m/s were observed, air temperature varied in the range from +4.3°C to +13.4°C, relative humidity was from 56% to 87%). In the area of Schmidt Ave.,19 on May 14, 2025, an excess of the MPC standard for surface ozone, established for an 8-hour period, was recorded: the concentration of surface ozone was 1.03 MPC from 16:00 to 24:00 (west, southwest, south-southeast winds at a speed of 13 m/s were observed, air temperature varied in the range from +11.9°C to +17.6°C, relative humidity was from 28% to 46%), the average daily concentration of surface ozone was 1.07 MPC (calm, north-west, west, south-west, south-southeast winds at a speed of 13 m/s were observed, air temperature varied in the range from +5.0°C to +17.6°C, relative humidity was from 28% to 91%).


In the air of Smorgon in the area of Sinkevich St.,119 on May 8, 2025, at 07:40, the concentration of solid particles, fractions up to 10 microns in size (hereinafter referred to as PM10), was 1.36 MPC (an east-southeast wind at a speed of 1.5 m/s was observed, air temperature was +1.1°C, relative humidity was 77%), at 19:00 was 1.45 MPC (an east-southeast wind of 1.0 m/s was observed, air temperature was +7.0°C, relative humidity was 49%). In the area of Orekhovka Vill.,67 on May 8, 2025, 3 excesses of the maximum one-time MPC for PM10 were registered: at 16:00 the PM10 concentration was 1.09 MPC (an east-northeast wind at a speed of 1.0 m/s was observed, air temperature was +7.2°C, relative humidity was 49%), at 23:20 was 1.03 MPC (an east-northeast wind at a speed of 1.3 m/s was observed, air temperature was +1.6°C, relative humidity was 84%), at 23:40 was 1.19 MPC (an east-northeast wind at a speed of 1.3 m/s was observed, air temperature was +1.0°C, relative humidity was 85%), on May 11, 2025, 8 excesses of the maximum one-time MPC for PM10 in the range from 1.17 to 2.40 MPC were recorded (an east-northeast wind at a speed of 1.01.5 m/s was observed, air temperature varied in the range from 2.0°C to 4.0°C, relative humidity ranged from 74% to 94%), on May 12, 2025, a single excess of the maximum one-time concentration of PM10 was recorded: at 00:00 the concentration was 1.42 MPC (an east-northeast wind at a speed of 1.4 m/s was observed, air temperature was +2.7°C, relative humidity was 81%).


In the air of Petrikov in the area of Korolev St. (light pole near TS-28 (ТП-28)) on May 10, 2025, an excess of the maximum one-time one-time MPC for PM10 was recorded: at 02:40 the concentration was 1.45 MPC (a calm wind was observed, air temperature was +4.8°C, relative humidity was 63%). 


In the air of Glubokoe in the area of (СCTS-513 (КТПБ-513), line 6, post 3) on May 9, 2025, 3 excesses of the maximum one-time MPC for PM10 were recorded: at 02:00 the concentration was 1.14 MPC, at 02:20 was 4.06 MPC, at 03:20 was 1.74 MPC (calm, northern, east-south-easterly winds were observed, air temperature was 0°C, relative humidity was 90%).


In the air of Osipovichi in the area of Shamyakina St.,65A on May 8, 2025, at 22:00 the PM10 concentration was 1.25 MPC (a calm wind was observed, air temperature was +5.1°C, relative humidity was 61%); on May 9, 2025, at 14:00 the PM10 concentration was 1.12 MPC, at 15:00 was 2.64 MPC, at 16:20 was 1.16 MPC, at 19:40 was 1.15 MPC, at 22:40 was 1.21 MPC, at 23:00 was 2.36 MPC, at 23:20 was 1.33 MPC (calm, east-south-east, north-north-west, south winds at a speed of 12 m/s were observed, air temperature varied in the range from +6.3°C to +9.7°C, relative humidity was from 32% to 52%).


In the area of the background monitoring station in the Berezinsky Nature Reserve (Lepelsky district, Domzheritsky Vill.) on May 14, 2025, the average daily concentration of surface ozone in the air was 1.16 MPC (a south wind at an average speed of 3 m/s was observed, air temperature varied in the range from +2.8°C to +17.7°C, relative humidity was from 40% to 99%).
