November 2026: forecast, norms and climatic records

The season of warm October weather is coming to an end, and the last autumn month is setting course for a cold snap. Thus, November will begin with a restructuring of atmospheric processes: the wind will turn to northern bearings and open the way for air masses of Arctic origin. As a result, the temperature background will decrease and return to its climatic channel. At the same time, the advection of northern coolness will intensify with each passing day. Therefore, if on 1 November the air at night cools from -1°C to +6°C, and during the day the thermometer readings reach +4...+10°C, then by the end of the first ten-day period it will become 2-3°C colder.

At the same time, despite the elevated background of atmospheric pressure, it will not be without precipitation. From time to time, with the passage of frontal boundaries and in moist air, rain will be observed, and in the second half of next week rain will fall mixed with wet snow. The first snowflakes will most likely be seen by residents of the northeastern regions of the country. At the same time, one should not count on a stable snow cover, since under conditions of daytime warming it will melt quickly.

According to preliminary forecasts, on average across the republic the temperature regime in November 2026 is expected to be near the climatic norm (norm +0.3...+3.4°C). At the same time, in the first ten-day period of November a negative temperature anomaly of 1°C is forecast. The amount of precipitation is expected to be near the long-term average values (norm 38-59 mm).

According to climatic data, the average air temperature for November across Belarus is +1.6°C (climatic norm for the period 1991-2020). In individual years it may deviate from the climatic norm. Thus, the warmest November was in 1996 with an average monthly air temperature of +4.9°C (3.3°C above the norm). The coldest November was in 1993 with an average monthly air temperature of -6.1°C (7.7°C below the norm).

The maximum air temperature in November was recorded in 1926 at the Mozyr station, when the thermometer rose to +24.1°C. The minimum air temperature of November was recorded in 1992 at the Yezerishche station (-27.4°C).

Precipitation in November often falls in the form of snow, but a stable snow cover usually forms only in December. The average date of the first appearance of snow cover is the first and second ten-day periods of November.
