Overview of hydrological situation of May 11, 2026

Over the past two days, due to precipitation, a rise in water levels was observed in the basins of the Western Dvina, Neman and Viliya rivers, as well as in the upper reaches of the Dnieper and Berezina rivers and most of their tributaries. As a result, on the Viliya River near the agro-town of Steshitsy and on the Berezina River's tributary, the Bobr River near the village of Kuty, water has overflowed onto the floodplain. In the basins of the Sozh and Pripyat rivers, as well as in the lower reaches of the Dnieper and Berezina rivers, a decrease in water levels was observed. Consequently, on the Sozh River near the towns of Krichev and Slavgorod, conditions for river transport operations have deteriorated, and on the Dnieper River near the town of Zhlobin, water has receded into its channel.
As of May 11, a rise in water levels is observed on the rivers of the Western Dvina, Neman and Viliya basins, in the upper reaches of the Dnieper, along most of the Berezina, and on most of their tributaries, as well as on certain tributaries of the Sozh and Pripyat rivers.
Water remains on the floodplain on the Viliya River near the agro-town of Steshitsy, on the Dnieper River near the urban settlement of Loyev, on the Berezina River's tributary – the Bobr River near the village of Kuty, and on the Sozh River's tributary – the Iput River near the town of Dobrush.
On the Neman River near the city of Grodno, and on the Sozh River near the towns of Krichev and Slavgorod, water levels are below the marks that limit navigation.
Water temperatures range from 7.8°C to 18°C in rivers, and from 9.0°C to 14°C in reservoirs.
In the coming days, a rise in water levels is expected on most rivers of the country; water temperature will not change significantly.
