During the past period (April 18–21), a decrease in water levels prevailed on the country’s rivers. As a result, on the Sozh River near the town of Slavgorod and on the Stvyga River (a tributary of the Pripyat) near the village of Korotichi, water levels dropped below the floodplain outlet marks.
As of April 22, rivers generally show a decrease in water levels with a daily intensity of 1–19 cm, as well as a steady trend. A rise in water levels is observed on the Berezina River near the town of Bobruisk and on some tributaries of the Western Bug, Sozh and Pripyat.
Floodplain inundation persists along most of the Dnieper River and on certain tributaries of the Sozh and Pripyat.
On the Neman River near the town of Grodno, the water level is below the mark at which difficulties in river navigation occur.
Water temperature ranges from 4.8°C to 11°C in rivers and from 6.8°C to 10°C in reservoirs.
In the coming days, a decrease in water levels will mainly prevail on the rivers. On the tributaries of the Pripyat – the Styr River near the village of Lopatino and the Sluch River near the agrotown of Lenin – water levels will drop below the floodplain outlet marks.
