The average air temperature in Belarus in August 2025 was +17.1°C, which is 0.9°C below the climatic norm. Such and lower average monthly temperatures in August have not been observed since 2009.

The negative air temperature anomaly spread throughout the country, with the exception of Grodno station. In the regional context, the highest values of negative deviations of air temperature from the climatic norm were noted in the Vitebsk, Minsk and Mogilev regions (1.0°C), in the Grodno and Brest regions the deviations were the lowest (0.6 °C).

On most days, the daytime air temperature was within +20 +25 °C, increased to +30°C and above at the end of the month. The maximum temperature (+33.3 °C) reached on the afternoon of August 31 at Soligorsk and Oktyabrsky stations.
At night, the air temperature exceeded +10°C, and on cool nights in the third decade it dropped to +3 +5°C. The minimum air temperature was recorded at Klichev station on August 28 and was +2.1°C.
During the month, an average of 37 mm of precipitation fell in the republic, which was 58% of the climatic norm. There was a shortage of precipitation throughout the country, with the exception of individual observation points in the Vitebsk and Gomel regions.

By region, the most precipitation was recorded in the Vitebsk region, with an average of 56 mm or 79% of the norm. The lowest is in the Brest region – 22 mm or 37% of the norm.

Precipitation shortages were observed in all three decades (44 to 65% of the precipitation rate fell).

The rains were mainly torrential, accompanied by thunderstorms, with hail up to 6 mm in places (Oshmyany station on August 16) The maximum daily precipitation for August 2025 fell at Bragin station on August 22 (51 mm). Fog was observed in some parts of the country. In some places, there was an increase in wind speed, including heavy gusts of 15 m/s or more. The maximum wind speed (23 m/s) was registered at Volkovysk station on August 10.
