Due to the decrease in temperature, the vegetation of winter crops has slowed down and will mainly be observed during daytime hours in the near future. According to the latest observation data, winter cereal crops are mostly tillering. On average, 1-3 shoots have formed per plant; according to some weather stations, 4-5 shoots. Soil moisture reserves at the end of autumn vegetation are good in most areas, and elevated in certain districts in the northern and central regions of the republic. Satisfactory moisture supply for plants persists in places in the south-eastern part of Belarus.
Due to the negative nighttime temperatures expected this week, dug-up root crops should not be left uncovered in the fields when completing harvesting operations.
