On the main fields, winter grain crops have headed out. On most observed fields of rye and locally on triticale and wheat in the southern half of the country, flowering has been recorded. In southern Belarus, ahead of last year's schedule, grain filling has begun on winter barley crops – according to data from a number of weather stations, the milky ripeness stage has been reached.
In the near future, favorable agrometeorological conditions for grain crop heading will persist over most of the republic – expected rainfall will maintain sufficient soil moisture reserves. In the southwest of the country, crop moisture supply should also improve. However, due to severe soil drying and uneven precipitation distribution, moisture reserves here may not be fully restored in some locations.
