Based on the results of instrumental soil moisture measurements, moisture reserves are good across most areas. In some districts of the Vitebsk region and in the northeast of the Minsk region, soil moisture levels are elevated. In the southwestern region of the Republic, due to the ongoing precipitation deficit, a soil drought is observed. In most of the Brest region and in the south of the Grodno region, available soil moisture reserves remain low. The drought is deteriorating conditions for crop productivity formation.
The rains expected in the first ten days of June should replenish soil moisture content in the southwestern part of the country. Across most of the Republic, adequate moisture availability for agricultural crops, combined with warm weather, will create a generally favorable agrometeorological situation.
