Overview of agrometeorological situation of April 28, 2026

Cold weather is slowing down the development of agricultural crops and the regrowth of perennial grasses. Overnight frosts were recorded over most of the country. Low temperatures may have caused damage to plants, primarily flowering fruit orchards.
Spring grain crops are undergoing seed germination and seedlings are emerging. On early-sown fields in the southern half of the republic, the third leaf has been observed. Due to the lower temperature regime, the period from sowing to germination has in some places increased to two weeks or more.
Soil temperature at a depth of 10 cm has decreased and is generally +6°C to +8°C, while in the extreme northern and eastern regions it is +3°C to +5°C.
In the coming days, the agrometeorological situation will remain unchanged, and the risk of plant damage from nighttime frosts will persist.
