Overview of hydrological situation of May 5, 2023

 
During the expired period (April 30 – May 4) on the Neman at settlement Belitsa, Vilii near the settlement Steshitsy, Berezina at Borisov, Sozh at Slavgorod, its tributary to the river Besed at village Svetilovichi and a tributary of the Dnieper, the Ivnya-Bond canal at the village of Budka, the water entered the channel.
As of May 5, the decline of water levels with a daily intensity of 1-38 cm remains on the rivers of the country.
Water levels exceed the water outlet marks on the floodplain on the Neman tributary of the Shchara river near Slonim, the Dnieper on the Zhlobin – Loev section, the Berezina near Berezino and Svetlogorsk, the Sozh near Gomel, its tributary to the Iput river near Dobrush, the Pripyat on the Chernichi –Narovlya section, as well as most of its tributaries.
Water levels exceed dangerously high levels in Pripyat at the village of Chernichi and the town of Petrikov by 11 cm and 51 cm, respectively.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, river flooding is observed in most districts of the Gomel region, the Vitebsk region of the Vitebsk region and the Luninetsky district of the Brest region.
The water temperature in rivers and reservoirs ranges from 8.5°C to 15°C.
In the next five days, the decline in water levels on the rivers will continue. On the Pripyat tributary of the Goryn river near the village of Malye Vikorovichi, the water level will drop below the floodplain exit mark.
