Overview of hydrological situation of January 29, 2021

In the past period (January 26-28), weather conditions contributed to the further melting of the ice cover and the destruction of ice formations. The Viliya near the town of Vileyka and its tributary, the Stracha river near the village of Olkhovka, the tributaries of the Neman (the Ross river near the village of Studenets), the Dnieper (the Braginka river near the village of Rudnya Zhuravlev), Berezina (the Bobr river near the village of Kuta) were completely cleared of ice formations. The tributaries of the Sozha rivers Besed near the village of Svetilovichi and the Iput near the town of Dobrush, the tributary of the Western Dvina, the Krivinka river near the village of Dobrigory, the tributaries of the Neman rivers Olshanka near the village of Bogdanovo and Gavya near the village of Lubinyata, as well as the tributary Pripyat, the river Neslukha near the village of Dobrush, opened up. 

As of January 29, freeze-up and freeze-up with openings are observed on most of the country's rivers.

Freeze up remains on the reservoirs Vileyskoye, Chigirinskoye, Zaslavskoye, Soligorskoye, Krasnaya Sloboda, lakes Lukomskoye, Drivyaty, Naroch and Chervoneye. There is a snow cover on the ice, in connection with which it should be remembered that snow on a frozen reservoir hides the holes, and also makes the ice less durable. Use caution when moving on ice.

On most of the country's rivers, there is an increase in water levels with a daily intensity of 1-36 cm.

On the Neman near Belitsa, Viliya near the village of Steshitsy, the Dnieper near the town of Loev, Berezina near the town of Berezino and the town of Svetlogorsk, its tributary to the Svisloch River near the village of Terebuty and the tributary of the Pripyat River, Ptich near the village of 1st Slobodka, levels waters exceed the mark of water outlet to the floodplain by 2-46 cm.

In the coming days, cold weather will slow down the processes of ice destruction on the country's water bodies.
