Overview of hydrological situation of January 27, 2023

Over the past day, moderately frosty weather has contributed to the appearance of ice formations in the form of snow, snowdrifts and snowdrifts on certain sections of rivers. On the Dnieper tributary of the Drut river near the village of Gorodishche, the water level has dropped below a dangerously high mark, there is a decline in water levels with an intensity of 11 cm per day.
As of January 27, glaciation with polynyas, divorces and edges is observed on the Zapanfaya Dvina near the town of Surazh and the settlement Ulla, Dnieper on the Mogilev – Zhlobin section, Berezina on the Bobruisk – Svetlogorsk section, Sozh on the Krichev – Slavgorod section and some of their tributaries. On lakes and reservoirs, the ice is preserved and the ice is incomplete. When moving on ice, safety precautions should be observed!
On the rivers there are fluctuations in water levels with a daily intensity of mainly 1-20 cm . On most rivers, the water is on the floodplain.
Water levels exceed dangerously high marks on the Berezina near Bobruisk by 11 cm, the Sozh tributary of the Pronya river near village Letyagi by 63 cm, Pripyat at Petrikov by 2 cm and its tributary the Ptich river at Persha Slobodka by 6 cm. Water levels are close to dangerously high levels on the Dnieper tributary of the Drut river near the village of Gorodishche and the Pripyat tributary of the Sluch River near settlement Lenin.
Flooding by river waters is observed in some areas of the Gomel and Mogilev regions.
In the coming days, the synoptic situation will contribute to the strengthening of ice-forming processes on the country's water bodies. In the level regime of rivers, there will be fluctuations in water levels with a tendency to decrease them.
