In the past period (January 21-24), an increase in air temperature contributed to the melting of ice on water bodies of the country, spaces with an open water surface increased in the ice cover. The tributary of Viliya, the Uzlyanka river near the village of Uzla, opened up, the tributary of the Dnieper, the Dobysna river near the village of M.Rudnya, completely cleared of ice formations.
As of January 25, most rivers in the basins of the Western Dvina, Neman, Viliya, Dnieper, Berezina, Sozh and Pripyat are experiencing freeze-up (up to 24 cm thick) and freeze-up with openings, the ice has darkened, and water has appeared on the ice.
On the reservoirs Vileyskoye, Chigirinskoye, Zaslavskoye, Soligorskoye, Krasnaya Sloboda, lakes Lukomskoye, Drivyaty, Naroch and Chervoneye, freeze-up from 16 cm to 33 cm thick is noted, but the structure of the ice has changed, when moving on the ice, you must be careful.
On the Western Dvina, Dnieper, in the Orsha sections Mogilev along Sozhe near the city of Krichev, a decrease in water levels with an intensity of 1-17 cm per day is observed. On the rest of the length of the above rivers, as well as on the Neman, Viliya, Berezina and Pripyat, there is an increase in water levels with a daily intensity of mainly 1-18 cm. On Viliya near the village of Steshitsa, Berezina near the city of Berezino and its tributary, the Svisloch river near the village .Terebuty water levels exceed the mark of water outlet to the floodplain.
In the coming days, further melting of the ice cover will occur, with an increase in water levels prevailing on most rivers.
