Overview of hydrological situation of January 15, 2021

In the past period (January 12-14), an increase in ice formation processes was noted on the country's water bodies. On the rivers, fluctuations in water levels were observed, on the Svisloch river, a tributary of the Berezina, near the village of Terebuty, the water level dropped below the mark of water outlet to the floodplain.
As of January 15, freeze-up and freeze-up with openings is observed on the Western Dvina near the city of Surazh, the village of Ulla and most of its tributaries, the Dnieper near the city of Zhlobin, Sozhe near the city of Gomel, some of their tributaries and individual tributaries of the Pripyat. Along the rest of the length of the above-mentioned rivers, as well as on the Neman, Viliya, Berezina and Pripyat, there are banks and a sludge walk.
An incomplete ice cover is observed on the lake Naroch. Continuous ice cover is noted on the reservoirs Zaslavskoye, Soligorskoye, Krasnaya Sloboda, lakes Lukomskoye, Drivyaty and Chervone. On the Chigirinskoye and Vileika reservoirs, freeze-up was established with a thickness of 10 cm and 21 cm, respectively.
On the rivers of the country, in some places there are sharp (up to 46 cm per day) fluctuations in water levels caused by ice clogs.
In the coming days, frosty weather will contribute to further ice formation on rivers and an increase in ice thickness on water bodies.
