Review of the agrometeorological situation of May 31, 2019
According to recent observation data, topsoil is in a moderate moistened state on most of Belarus. Average soil temperature at depth of 10 cm ranges from +16°С to +21°С in many areas of the country. Agrometeorological conditions contributes to finishing sowing of cereal crops, emergence of seedlings of late heat-loving plants. Past rains, heavy in certain areas, caused overmoistening of soil. 10 cm topsoil is heavy moistened in the east of Vitebsk region and certain areas of Brest region.
Conditions for carrying out field works and forage conservation worsened on the fields with soil overmoistening. However, because of uneven precipitations, there is still deficit of soil moisture in certain areas of the Republic.
Agrometeorological conditions will be favorable for growth and development of agricultural crops, carrying out agrotechnical activities for sowing cultivation on most of the territory of the Republic of Belarus in early June. Conditions for haymaking will ameliorate.
