Review of the agrometeorological situation of June 18, 2019
Maize and other heat-loving agricultural crops grow under conditions of good heat provision. According to recent data of visual observations, leaf formation continues on maize fields – crops have on average 7-9 leaves on most of the fields, 11-13 leaves – in the southern part of the country. Increased temperature and sufficient water availability contribute to the development of maize crops. However, because of uneven distribution of precipitations there is still moisture deficit in soil that worsen conditions for growth of green mass. Visual assessments of the state of are good at the observation sites, they are moderate in Vitebsk region.
Agrometeorological conditions should be ameliorated in connection with expected rains during the second half of this week. Difficult situation will continue in certain areas of south-eastern part of Belarus.
