Overview of agrometeorological situation of May 12, 2022

The lack of precipitation in the first decade of May led to the loss of moisture, especially from the upper layers of the soil. According to the latest visual observations in most of Belarus, the upper 10-cm soil layer is in a moderately wet state. In some places in the south of the country, as well as in most areas of the Vitebsk region, weak moistening of the upper soil layer is noted. In such areas, the conditions for the emergence of seedlings and the further development of spring crops are complicated.
In the near future, due to the uneven distribution of expected precipitation, insufficient soil moisture may persist in some areas.
