Overview of agrometeorological situation of August 4, 2022
The predominance of a moderate temperature regime and the abundance of soil moisture on the main tracts contribute to the formation of a potato crop. According to the latest observations, flowering ended in potatoes almost everywhere, in some observed fields natural wilting of tops was noted. Visual assessments of the state of plantings are mostly good, only a few weather stations note damage by pests. In areas with waterlogging of the soil, prerequisites for the appearance of diseases are created. At the end of July, the average weight of tubers under one bush, according to meteorological stations, ranged from 300 to 800 grams, in early-ripening varieties in places in the south of the republic it reached 1300 grams. On average in the country, the mass of tubers under one bush exceeds last year's figure. Under the bush there are from 10 to 14 tubers, of which mainly 20-40% have reached normal sizes.
In the near future, agrometeorological conditions for the growth of potato tubers will not change significantly. High temperature conditions due to short exposure should not affect the state of this crop.
