Hot and dry weather have precipitated the ripening of corn grains. In many areas of the southern half of the republic, corn has waxy grain ripeness. Grain filling continues on the remaining arrays. Under the influence of high temperatures and lack of soil moisture in places on the observed fields, corn plants began to wither, yellowing and drying of leaves.
