Information on exceedances of standards for ambient air quality
The State Institution "Republican center for hydrometeorology, control of radioactive contamination and environmental monitoring" informs about the excess of quality standards for pollutants in the atmospheric air of the cities of the Republic for the period from 10 to 16 May 2018.
In the air of Minsk (district Heroes 120 Division) on May 10 and 11, the average daily concentrations of solid particles, fractions up to 2.5 microns exceeded the quality standard by 1.4 times.
On May 10 a weak wind of alternating directions was observed, the relative humidity ranged from 27% to 58%, the air temperature from + 10.1 ° C to + 23.3 ° C.
On May 11, there was a weak east, south-easterly wind, relative humidity ranged from 27% to 62%, air temperature - from +8.9 ° C to + 20.7 ° C.
On May 12, a slight excess of the quality standard for solid particles (1.08 times) was noted in this region. The wind of the northern quarter was observed, the calm, the relative humidity ranged from 26% to 66%, and the air temperature was + 8.3 ° C to + 23.3 ° C.
On May 13, the average daily concentration of solid particles, fractions up to 2.5 microns in the region of Geroyev 120 Division street was 1.75 MAC, solid particles, fractions up to 10 microns in the area of Timiryazev street - 1.1 MPC. The wind of variable directions was observed at a speed of 1-5 m / s, the relative humidity varied in the range from 27% to 53%, the air temperature from +13.6 ° C to + 20.9 ° C.
On May 14, the average daily concentration of solid particles, fractions up to 2.5 microns in the area of Geroyev 120 Divisions street, exceeded the quality standard by 1.1 times. The south-easterly wind prevailed at a speed of 1-4 m / s, relative humidity ranged from 43% to 58%, air temperature - from + 12.2 ° C to + 19.6 ° C. Precipitation, which fell on May 15, caused a decrease in the content of solid particles in the air.

In the air of Rechitsa (Molodezhnaya area), on May 12 and 16, short-term excess (1.1 times) of the quality standard for solid particles (undifferentiated dust / aerosol composition) was noted.
The main reason for maintaining a high content of particulate matter in the air is a precipitation deficit over a long period.
