Information on exceedances of standards for ambient air quality (18 October - 24 October 2018)

 The state institution "The Republican center for hydrometeorology, control of radioactive contamination and environmental monitoring" informs about the excess of quality standards for pollutants in the atmospheric air of the cities of the republic for the period from 18 to 24 October 2018.

According to continuous observation data, in the air of Brest (Severnaya street) there was an increase of air pollution level with nitrogen oxides from 20:40 to 21:40: maximum concentration of nitrogen oxides reached 1,4 MPC, maximum concentration of nitrogen dioxides  – 1,3 MPC on October, 18. The north-west wind of 1 m/s prevailed, relative humidity was 90%, air temperature – +8,2°С.

In the air of Mozyr industrial hub (Penki village), there was an exceedance of quality standards on particulate pollutants with fractions up to 10 microns on October 18: average daily concentration was 1,2 MPC. The shifting wind had prevailed, weft and windless conditions, relative humidity ranged from 44% to 86%, air temperature – from +10,9°С to +21,7°С.

In the air of Gomel (Barykin street) there was an exceedance of quality standards on nitrogen oxides by 2,4 times from 07:20 to 09:20 and at 18:20 by 1,2 times on October, 18. The shifting wind had prevailed, weft and windless conditions, relative humidity ranged from 46% to 88%, air temperature – from +12,8°С to +22,4°С.

In the air of Mogilev (Krupskaya), there was an exceedance of quality standards on particulate pollutants with fractions up to 10 microns on October 18: average daily concentration was 1,2 MPC. The shifting wind had prevailed, weft and windless conditions, relative humidity ranged from 44% to 86%, air temperature – from +10,9°С to +21,7°С. There was an exceedance of quality standards on nitrogen dioxides in the area of Cheluskintsev street on October 20: concentration was 1,2 MPC. The north wind and the north-east wind had prevailed, relative humidity ranged from 57% to 64%, air temperature – from +10,4°С to +12°С.

According to continuous observation data, in the air of Minsk (Heroes of 120th Division street) there was an increase of air pollution level with nitrogen oxides from 08:40 to 10:00 on October, 18: maximum concentration of nitrogen oxides reached 2,9 MPC, maximum concentration of nitrogen dioxides  – 1,2 MPC; in the evening  there was an increase of air pollution level  with nitrogen oxides by 1,2 times. There was a short-term (during 20 minutes) exceedance of quality standards on nitrogen dioxides by 1,1 times in the area of Sudmalis street. The shifting wind had prevailed, weft and windless conditions, relative humidity ranged from 54% to 98%, air temperature – from +7,1°С to +20,5°С. There was an increase of air pollution level with nitrogen oxides from 08:20 to 09:20 in the area of Korzhenevskiy and Heroes of 120th Division streets on October 19: maximum concentration of nitrogen oxides ranged from 1,2  to 2,3 MPC. The shifting wind had prevailed, weft and windless conditions, relative humidity was 98%, air temperature – +6,8°С. There was an increase of air pollution level with nitrogen oxides from 08:00 to 09:40 in the area of Heroes of 120th Division street on October 22: concentrations ranged from 1,2 to 2,2 MPC. The shifting wind had prevailed, weft and windless conditions, relative humidity was 97%, air temperature – +1,7°С.

In the air of Vitebsk (Kosmonavty street), there was an exceedance of quality standards on particulate pollutants with nitrogen dioxides on October 19: concentration was 1,4 MPC. The shifting wind had prevailed, weft and windless conditions, relative humidity ranged from 95% to 99%, air temperature – from +4,6°С to +7,8°С.

In the air of Zhlobin (Prigorodnaya street), average daily concentration of particulate pollutants with fractions up to 2,5 microns was 1,8 MPC on October 20. The shifting wind had prevailed, weft and windless conditions, relative humidity ranged from 51% to 96%, air temperature – from +6,2°С to +12,3°С. There was an exceedance of quality standards on particulate pollutants with fractions up to 2,5 microns by 2 times on October 21. The wind of various directions prevailed, windless conditions, relative humidity ranged from 53% to 93%, air temperature – from +2,0°С to +12,0°С.
