Overview of hydrological situation of February 20, 2019

Within the previous day the Neman near Mosty, the Pripyat near Pestrikov, its affluent the Goryn’ near Malyie Vikorovichi. The Stviga near Korotichi village and the Ubort’ near Krasnoberezhye village completely freed from ice features.
At the present time freeze-up with thickness from 9 cm to 28 cm is registered on most of the Zapadnaya Dvina, the Dnieper, the Berezina and on certain areas of the Sozh, ice thickness is 25-33 cm on the water bodies of Belarus, however, crevasses and areas with open water surface are observed on the ice cover. It is dangerous to go out on ice. 
The increase of water levels with the intensity 1-21 cm per day is observed on the rivers. Sharp decrease (42-50 cm per day) of water levels is observed on the Neman near Mosty and on the Goryn’ (affluent of the Pripyat) near Malyie Vikorovichi resulting from  ice block below station that came from river break up.
Water is on the flood land on the Pripyat near Chernichi village and on ots affluents the Bychok near Ozerany village, the Sluch near Lenin village, the Styr near Lopatino village and the Ptich near 1st Slobodka village and on the Narev (affluent of the Zapadnyi Bug) near Nemerzha village.
In the coming days significant changes in the level and ice regime of rivers won’t be expected.
