Overview of hydrological situation of February 18, 2019
Within the previous period the Zapadnaya Dvina near Polotsk, the Sozh near Gomel, the Pripyat near Pinsk and Mozyr as well as its affluent the Styr near Lopatino village and the Stviga near Korotichi village broke up from ice. The Shchara near Slonim, the Oshmyanka (affluent of the Viliya) near B.Yatsyny and the Basya (affluent of the Sozh) near Khilkovichi village completely freed from ice features.
At the present time freeze-up and freeze up with ice leads are observed on certain areas of the Neman, most of the Zapadnaya Dvina, the Dnieper, the Berezina, the Sozh and the Pripyat.
There is an increase of water levels with the intensity 1-21 cm per day on most of the rivers. Water is on the flood land on the Neman near Belitsa village, on the Bychok near Ozerany village and on the Sluch near Lenin and on the Ptich near 1st Slobodka village.
In the coming days the increase of water levels will prevail, processes of ice break up in the rivers and its clearance from ice features will continue.
