Climate characteristic of July 2019
Average air temperature in July was +17,1°С across Belarus that is 1,3°С below climate normal. The largest negative deviations from climate normal were registered in Vitebsk and Mogilev regions (-1,8°С on average across the region), the smallest – in Brest region (-0,6 ºС). Such temperature of July or lower is once 3-4 years on average during last 75 years, since 2001 – it is registered for the first time.

Temperature was various this month. 1st and 2nd decades of July were cold with average air temperature which was 2,2 and 2,5°С below normal respectively. Average air temperature of 3rd decade was 0,5°С above decade climate normal.

Air temperature increased up to+18 +25°С during the month except the warmest days with temperature up to +28 +32°С. Hot weather was registered on July 1, when temperature exceeded +35ºС during the day hours at mane meteorological stations and reached the criteria of dangerous phenomenon. Maximum air temperature of month was registered at the meteorological station Bragin (+36,4°С) on July, 1 updating absolute maximum temperature of July for this station.
Amount of precipitations in July and climate normal across the regions and Republic of Belarus
91 mm of precipitations fell out on average across the country in July that was 107% of climate normal. Precipitations were uneven throughout Belarus. The most moistened region was Vitebsk region with 127, 5 mm of precipitations or 155% of climate normal. The least of precipitations was in Grodno region – 61 mm or 71% of climate normal.
Rains with thunderstorms, sometimes hail were observed during the month reaching sometimes criteria of dangerous phenomenon. The largest amount of precipitations per day was registered at the meteorological station Ezerishche – 113 mm or 127% of climate normal for this station.
Wind speed increased up to 20 m/s and more, Maximum wind speed, which reached criteria of dangerous phenomenon, was registered on July, 1 (29 m/s at the meteorological station Pinsk and 25 m/s at the meteorological station Drogichin). Short fog periods were registered in some areas during the day and night hours.
