Climate characterisic of April 2019
Average air temperature of April across the country is 8,8°С which is 1,5°С above climate normal. Such high average temperature is once every 10 years. The most positive temperature deviations from climate normal were registered in Grodno region (1,7°С on average across the region), the least – in Vitebsk region (1,3°С on average across the region).
Deviations of average air temperature of April from climate normal in the Republic of Belarus
Temperature was erratic during all three decades. Average air temperature of 1st decade was +6,1°С which is 1,2°С above climate normal. Second decade was 0,6°С below climate normal. Third decade was the warmest with air temperature which is 3,8°С above climate normal. This happens once every 7-10 year in Belarus.

Most of the month day temperature exceeded 10-degree mark, air temperature increased up to +22 +27°С in the warmest days. Maximum air temperature was registered at the meteorological stations Brest on April, 26 and at Pruzhany and Drogichin on April, 27 and it was +27,8°С.
During first two decades, nights were in general breezy, night temperature ranged from -4 to +4°С. Night temperature were positive during third decade, temperature of the warmest nights increased up to +7 +14°С. Freeze with the intensity up -2°С to was observed in certain regions. The lowest temperature of April (-7,2°С) was registered at the meteorological station Vasilevichi on April, 3.
7,0 mm of precipitations fell out across the country in April that is 18% of climate normal. Such warm April was never happened since the post-war period. The most moistened area was Gomel region with 12,2 mm of precipitations on average across the region (31% of climate normal). The least of precipitations was registered in Vitebsk region – 3,7 mm on average across the region (10% of climate normal). Thunderstorms were registered in many areas of the country at the end of the month. Thunderstorm with hail (6 mm in diameter) was observed in Grodno on April, 21. Wind speed increased up to 15-18 m/s in certain days of April.
