Review of the agrometeorological situation of December 5, 2019
Agrometeorological conditions for the start of wintering of winter crops are
satisfying. Snow cover is insignificant, in some regions of the country it is absent according to the latest observational data. At the end of November a slight freezing of soil was observed mainly in the northeastern half of Belarus, in the rest of the country soil remained thawed. Soil temperature at the depth of tillering site of winter cereals and on the root neck of perennial grasses is in the range of -2, + 1 ° C, in the eastern half of the country in the last decade of November was dropping to -3, -7 ° C. Such temperatures are not dangerous for wintering crops.
In the near future snow cover will be unstable, low temperatures which pose a threat to winter crops are not expected.
